Neighborhood overview✨NEIGHBORHOOD✨
🏝🏝🏝
Soufriere is filled with beautiful culture and many animals. Almost all the neighbors have chickens, goats, cows, dogs, and cats around their property and many times you can get to see mothers with new babies.
🪴🪴🪴
The people of St. Lucia love to take advantage or the lush fruitful soil. It’s very common to see people caring for their gardens and plants!
CONS:
🚘 🚘🚘
Due to the home being on the road there is traffic noise.
🐓🐓🐓
The animals like to make sure you know it’s morning time! If you aren’t an early riser we recommend earplugs so you don’t have to wake up with the roosters.
Getting around✨GETTING AROUND✨
There are many ways of getting around this beautiful island here is what we recommend!
🚶🏽♀️🚶🏿♂️🚶♀️
If you are active and want to get your daily steps walking is a common choice for getting around in Soufriere town. We recommend you are very careful and alert as the roads tend to be narrow and drivers expect walkers to yield instead of vise versa. But if that doesn’t bother you put on your sneakers and join the locals! You will meet amazing people and see St. Lucia at a different speed; notoriously know as, “island time!”
🚙🚙🚙
Car rental is a great option as you are able to travel to distant areas of the island and carry more items than by foot. If you have a short period of time we highly recommend car. Keep in my car drive on the left hand side in St. Lucia. Make sure you are comfortable with traffic, windy roads, and narrow roads.
🚕 🚕🚕
If driving isn’t for you, renting a taxi driver is another option. You will initially need one for getting from the airport to the house. But if you would like a driver the whole trip there are MANY taxi drivers that you can hire.
🚤🚤🚤
We LOVE to travel to beaches by water taxi! It gives such and amazing view of the island and there is nothing like being out in the CRYSTAL CLEAR water! Going to the waterfront you can find many water taxi drivers! You can ask someone or mostly like they will ask you first! 🤣 Also, doing a quick search on google you can book one ahead of time.
🚌🚌🚌
If you are traveling on a tight budget you can find public transport right in the town center. There you can get cheap transportation to other city centers on the island. Going into the town center and looking for a bus labeled to where you are going or asking a driver or local will land you In the right place. The locals are very helpful make sure you ask questions!
